We can tarmac a new area for a playground or resurface an existing play area (provided the existing surface is not fretting badly). We can carry out all groundworks , ground work repairs and resetting drains and manhole levels.

Typically we would excavate the area and lay a type 1 28mm clean limestone base to an average depth of 150mm, rolled and cross rolled, then lay a 20mm DBM Binder Course to BS4987, Cl.6.5 laid to an average depth of 100mm followed by a tack coat of bituminous emulsion and a 6mm DBM Surface Course to BS4987, Cl.7.5, laid to an average depth of 25mm. For a resurface we would normally apply the tack coat and just the surface course.

Sports Resurfacing

We can tarmac a new sports area or resurface an existing with an open textured tarmac which is ideal for tennis, netball and badminton. After any required baseworks we apply a tack coat of bituminous emulsion and supply, lay and compact 25mm of 6mm Leisuretex Multiuse tarmacadam to create an excellent sports surface.

If necessary when resurfacing we can spike the existing surface at 300mm centres and fill with shingle prior to resurfacing to improve drainage.
